To Die Beautiful - Buzzy Jackson

The May selection for the Radio Bookclub is To Die Beautiful by author Buzzy Jackson.

The novel is a fictionalized retelling of the true story of Hannie Schaft, a Dutch resistance fighter during World War II. She became known as “the girl with the red hair”.

We first meet Hannie in the novel in 1940 as a shy nineteen-year-old law student living in the Nazi-occupied Netherlands, who becomes an armed member of the Dutch Resistance movement while protecting her friends.

Hear Buzzy Jackson on the Radio Bookclub on KGNU on Thursday May 25 at 9am.

The Radio Bookclub is a collaboration between KGNU and the Boulder Bookstore and is broadcast on the 4th Thursday of every month at 9am. The entire series, including Afterhours at the Radio Bookclub, is available as a podcast.
