Radio Bookclub

The July selection for the Radio Bookclub is Asylum by local author Nina Shope. The book delves into the disturbing and seductive relationship between a young hysteric named Augustine and renowned nineteenth-century French neurologist J.M. Charcot. As Charcot risks his career to investigate the controversial disease of hysteria, Augustine struggles to make him acknowledge their interdependence and shared desires—until a new lover, M., drives them all to the brink of fracture.

Tune in to KGNU on Thursday July 28 at 9am to hear Nina Shope speak about Asylum on the Radio Bookclub.

The Radio Bookclub is a collaboration between the Boulder Bookstore and KGNU. Each month we select a book and have a discussion with the author in studio.
