Radio Bookclub

Woman of Light by Denver author Kali Fajardo-Anstine

The August selection for the Radio Bookclub is Woman of Light by Denver author Kali Fajardo-Anstine.

The book tells the tale of Luz “Little Light” Lopez, a tea leaf reader and laundress, who is left to fend for herself. As Luz navigates 1930s Denver, she begins to have visions that transport her to her Indigenous homeland in the nearby Lost Territory. Luz recollects her ancestors’ origins, how her family flourished, and how they were threatened. In the end, it is up to Luz to save her family stories from disappearing into oblivion.

Tune in Thursday August 25 at 9 am to hear Kali Fajardo-Anstine speak about Woman of Light.

The Radio Bookclub is a collaboration between the Boulder Bookstore and KGNU. Each month we select a book and have a discussion with the author in studio.
