The unusually dry winter has many Coloradans downright worried about the realities of climate change. Ted Scambos is the Senior Research Scientist at CU’s Earth Science and Observation Department. He says, while you shouldn’t panic because of weather, which is highly variable, if you look at glaciers, well, it’s actually still pretty bad.
Scambos recently took a group of students to collect samples and document the state of the Arapaho Glacier outside of Boulder. KGNU’s Alexis Kenyon talked with Scambos by phone from a field station where he is conducting research in Antarctica – hence the choppy audio.
