Labor Exchange – Healthcare Workers Organize Under Weight Of Pandemic

Tonight’s edition of The Labor Exchange examines how healthcare workers in Colorado have been organizing to improve their labor conditions as the ongoing pandemic burdens their workloads and prompts resignations.

First, we’ll hear from registered nurses at Longmont United Hospital who have spoken out about about staffing shortages and working conditions at the hospital they say compromise safety and their ability to provide a quality standard of care. Then, we’ll chat with Nate Bernstein, Director of the Healthcare Division the of United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 7, about healthcare workers in Colorado he helps to represent.
