Black Talk: Boulder County’s Three Elected Black Officials

Black Talk is a one-hour monthly show bringing us news and more from NAACP Boulder County and beyond.

Hosted by Michele Simpson, it airs on KGNU on the second Thursday at 8:32am, just after the BBC News headlines.

Guests for the December edition of Black Talk are Boulder County’s three (only) Black elected officials: Tim Barnes (Lafayette), Junie Joseph (Boulder), and Shiquita Yarbrough (Longmont).  With the exception of Junie Joseph, these councilors are firsts — the first Black elected officials in what are, indisputably, predominantly white cities. We will talk to each about their campaigns, experiences, and priorities, as members of their respective city councils and communities.
