Labor Exchange: Denver Airport Janitors Strike Ahead Of Negotiations

Our host today, Dave Ashton, is in for Dennis Creese. Dennis is on an extended hiatus, but given the state of labor affairs currently, we’d like to try to fill his shoes from time to time with news about the resurgence of the labor movement. Today, we’ll take a look at an ongoing labor struggle by janitorial staff at the Denver International Airport. Custodial staff there voted overwhelmingly to go on strike last week. Listen to on-location interviews with the workers from when they walked off the job Friday. They have since returned to work, while negotiations for a new contract are underway. In this evening’s Labor Exchange, we’ll hear directly from the workers.
