Colorado has been slow to distribute federal aid funds to those in need of rental assistance. A report last month from the Department of Treasury found that less than eight percent of funds from the Emergency Rental Assistance Program had been delivered to Coloradans who are struggling to pay rent because of the pandemic.

KGNU’s Alexis Kenyon spoke with Tamara Chuang who is a business reporter for the Colorado Sun. Chuang has been covering this issue and says, six months after the program began, finally the Department of Local Affairs, or DOLA, found a new vendor to handle the relief payments.
