The Role of Faith Communities in Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Crisis Response

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and this year it comes 14 months deep into a global pandemic. Several organizations are using the opportunity to provide free mental health services. Among them is the Interfaith Network on Mental Illness, which will host a free webinar tomorrow morning on the role of faith communities in suicide prevention, intervention and crisis response. KGNU’s Shannon Young spoke with the webinar’s co-host, psychologist and suicide prevention advocate, Dr. Sally Spencer-Thomas.
