The Lafayette Youth Advisory Commission puts the event on every year, this is the 16th year of the event. Lassie Moore, a member of the Lafayette Youth Advisory Commission (LYAC), says this celebration is particularly special as it is organized by young people.
“This day is really important to us here in Lafayette because it is an event organized by the youth for the youth,” she said. “In a year full of separation and divide we were super excited to have this event this year because it’s a great way to bring all of our community together, showcase our talent and remember a legacy of a great human being.”
