Election 2020: Proposition 116 – Decrease State Income Tax Rate

Proposition 116 would decrease the state income tax rate from 4.63% to 4.55%.

Proponents say reducing income tax will allow business owners and their employees to keep and spend more of their own money instead of sending it to the state government.

Opponents of the measure say Prop 116 will cut funding to schools, health care, housing, & more so the rich get richer.

Colorado State Senator Jerry Sonnenberg (R) speaks in favor of the measure, Scott Wasserman, President of the Bell Policy Center speaks against Prop 116.
