For many years, MOTUS theater has been bringing the community first-person stories of immigrants, written and performed by immigrants. Their latest project UndocuAmerica, aims to interrupt the dehumanizing portrayals of immigrants by encouraging thoughtful engagement on the challenges facing the undocumented community and the assets immigrants bring to our country.

The UndocuAmerica Series features 12 podcast episodes focused on the experience of DREAMers (Development Relief for Alien Minors) launching this month. The platform pairs them with national voices to share deeply moving stories from the undocumented community. This series gives voice to the voices that often go unheard in the media.
Today we’ll hear monologues from Alejandro Fuentes and Kiara Chavez, and after each monologue we hear jazz legend Robert Johnson sing a musical response.
In honor of Immigrant Heritage Month and Independence Day, Motus Theater presents two unique UndocuMonologues performances, and the launch of our national podcast, Shoebox Stories: UndocuAmerica Series, on Saturday, June 29th, at eTown Hall in Boulder!
Join us to listen to jazz great Robert Johnson offering a musical response to powerful stories from the heart by undocumented community leaders on the frontline of U.S. immigration policy. Johnson, who sang with Stan Getz and Stevie Wonder, will be accompanied by the pianist Adam Bodine.
And in between performances, don’t miss the launch of our unprecedented national podcast – free an open to the public.
