11am: UPDATE: FBI and local police agencies are reporting that there is no longer a threat to the community from the armed woman who had been at large, resulting in the closure of all local schools today. We’ll bring you more details as they emerge, but once again, the FBI is saying there is no longer a threat to the community. Police have confirmed the Sol Pais is deceased. Reports indicate that she died of a self inflicted gun shot wound at the base of Mt. Evans.

All metro area schools were closed on Wednesday April 17.

Sol Pais, 18, traveled to Colorado from Miami and is described by the FBI as being infatuated with the Columbine school shooting. She is believed to be in the Denver-Littleton area after purchasing a pump-action shotgun as well as ammunition after leaving Denver International Airport.

Her presence on Tuesday triggered lockouts at schools in Jefferson County, including at Columbine High School. On Wednesday all metro area school districts took the decision to close due to safety concerns related to a credible threat against schools in the area.
