PoCo in BoCo: Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2018

Nikhil Mankekar and Tracey Jones, co-hosts of our monthly series looking at issues facing People of Color in Boulder County (PoCo in BoCo), speak with Kirsten Wilson, the Founder and Artistic Director of Motus Theater, and Judy Huston of Boulder’s Showing Up for Racial Justice (BSURJ).  They discuss the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the upcoming events for the City of Boulder’s annual  Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration.



On Saturday January 13th, MOTUS presents poet Dominique Christina: Poetic Justice in Honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, at Old Main on the CU Boulder campus. The event is free and open to the public.

On Monday January 15th, BSURJ is hosting a panel discussion on race at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Boulder(1419 Pine St.)

PoCo in BoCo airs on the 2nd Monday of every month at 8.35am on KGNU.

Nikhil Mankekar, Deputy Chair of the City of Boulder’s Human Relations Commission, was just honored with the United Nations Association of Boulder’s International Human Rights Award for his work to advance human rights.
