Candidates Will Answer Questions Regarding Voting Rights of Those Incarcerated in Tonight’s DA Forum

In Colorado those who have a criminal conviction and have served the sentence including any parole time can vote.  Those in jail awaiting trial or are on probation for a misdemeanor or a felony and are in jail serving a sentence for a misdemeanor crime are also eligible to vote.
Tonight the candidates who are seeking the role of Denver’s next District Attorney will face the voters to address these issues plus any issues that the community poses to the candidates.
Juston Cooper and Alex Landau, members of the Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition speak to KGNU about some of the reforms to mass incarceration that the group has won including the closing of five prisons.
The forum is this evening at the Inner City Parish, 1212 Mariposa Ave., Denver from 6-8 pm.
