Good Guys Behaving Badly: Veterans Helping Veterans

“I did get in trouble and I faced alcoholism and addiction, from other circumstances as well, but it cost me some trouble with the law, a divorce and things like that.”

Cody Nichols served in the US Navy from 2000-2004. He says he’s now on the right track after having a rough few years after leaving the military. Cody credits Veterans Helping Veterans Now with helping turn his life around.

The Longmont based organization was founded to offer a helping hand from one veteran to another to deal with many of the issues facing the community… from PTSD to addiction problems.  They offer support groups, educational programs and a jail visitation program.  The organization was founded by a veteran who, after finding himself in and out of jail, realized there was a need for more support for veterans returning from duty.

VHV Now is hosting a free talk on Thursday April 16th called Good Guys Behaving Badly.  Boulder County Deputy District Attorney and veteran, J.P. Martin will speak on the current environment regarding veterans and the law at 6pm at the Calvary Bible Church on Kalmia in North Boulder. The talk is open to veterans and civilians.
