Colorado State GOP Convention

In Breaking News, Elections, Featured, Morning Magazine

On March 1, 2016, the Democratic Party of Colorado held caucus to choose their delegates to vote for the presidential nominees. In previous years the Republican Party did the same, and many republican voters showed up to their local caucuses expecting to decide on a presidential candidate.

Instead, the Colorado Republican Part changed how the party chooses delegates and will hold local district conventions this week followed by a state convention on April 9th.

KGNU’s Tim Wintemute spoke with Steve House, Chair of the Colorado Republican Party,  about the changes in election rules and how these changes affect Colorado voters’ opportunities to decide the GOP party’s nominee.
