The Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom was founded in April 1915 as an effort by suffragettes and social reformers to protest the war.”

Anne Marie Pois, has been a member of WILPF since 1989. Pois says WILPF is the oldest international women’s peace organization and has played a role in calling for peace from World War I through the current conflicts of today.
