International Women’s Day is this Sunday March 8th.

“Women die in climate disasters like cyclones, floods and droughts at 14 times the rate of men. “

Dr. Terry Odendahl is the Executive Director of the Boulder based non-profit Global Greengrants Fund which makes small grants to community projects working to fight environmental degradation and to support social justice worldwide.

Global Greengrants is issuing a report to coincide with International Womens Day highlighting the nexus between women’s rights and environmental justice worldwide.

Odendahl says that women are not just vulnerable, but they are our best hope for adapting to climate change as they are also the best hope we have for combating climate chaos.

Dr. Terry Odendahl is being honored for her contributions to women both locally and internationally at the World DenverWomen Leading Change around the World” luncheon on Friday March 6th.
