Green Schools Summit

Posted: November 14, 2014 at 8:00 am by , in Featured, Morning Magazine

The Green Schools Summit is a gathering of both industry professionals like architects, engineers and contractors as well as educators and policy makers and school district decision makers.
They celebrate school buildings that have undergone some green renovations and brainstorm on ways to help transform school buildings.
Patti Mason, the Director of Advocacy, U.S. Green Building Council Colorado chapter says that schools that can’t afford major infrastructure renovations can still green their schools by encouraging a culture of sustainability. She says simple acts like turning out lights in empty classrooms and creating recycling opportunities have tangible benefits for school districts. The Colorado Green Schools Summit is happening today at the University of Denver.
